Dr. John Warren, OD

Dr. Warren grew up in Whitewater, Wisconsin. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is a 1992 graduate of Indiana University School of Optometry. He and his wife and sons live on Racine’s north side near the office.

Dr. Warren has published numerous articles in the optometric press, and frequently speaks at national optometric meetings. Dr. Warren served as the 2003 President of the Wisconsin Optometric Association.

Dr. Warren is also a software developer, having a hand in the creation of EyeCodeRight, the electronic medical record that is used at Warren Eye Care Center.

Dr. Warren frequently consults and speaks in the Ophthalmic industry about a wide range of topics from clinical patient care to office design and efficiency and new product development. He finds sharing his expertise with his colleagues to be very rewarding as well as fun.

Dr. Warren’s special clinical interests include difficult contact lens fittings, pediatric and geriatric eye care.​

Mara

Mara has been with us since the fall of 2018, but has known the Warrens since she was 6 years old! A life long Racine resident other than a few years during and right after college, she's happy to be working close to home. Starting out as our technician, in 2022 she stepped in to streamline the optical process and took over the submissions of our vision insurance claims. Making connections with patients during their time in the office, whether that’s during the exam or while picking out glasses has become her favorite part of her job. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling with her husband, Grant, and their two children, Evie & Micah.

Carmen

Carmen also known as “Mrs. Warren” joined the office in 2019 after teaching middle school math for many years.  She worked in the office prior to the birth of their first son, as well.  Carmen can be seen working at the front desk or with patients during the exam process.  When she is not at work, she likes spending time with her family, traveling, reading, or crafting.

Alexis

​While she will probably always be considered our "newest employee” no matter how long she’s worked with us, Alexis has been a part of the team since 2022. Like all of our employees, she can be seen working in every area of our office, but enjoys working the optical and technical roles the most! Assisting patients with their glasses needs and making connections with them through those experiences is what makes the job so different since every person is unique. She's become somewhat of a jokester in the office, often testing Dr. Warren's patience when it comes to finding his glasses that end up in some strange spots… in fact when looking for things slightly out of place in our office you can find little ducks hidden around the rooms. Due to this, she is no longer allowed to be left alone in the office in fear of the critters taking over. When she’s not slaving away at the typical 9-5 (okay it's actually not that bad), she enjoys spending time with her lease horse Pippin, and traveling as much as she can. She also has a love for getting lost in books and insect pinning. You can find some of her bugs framed around the office!

Committed to utilizing cutting edge technology to both improve the quality of the care provided and to provide that care in an efficient and timely manner. Dr. Warren runs on time, all the time.  This is the result of creating a patient experience in the office that is geared towards efficient collection of data and information as well as making sure that no patient time is wasted waiting for staff or the doctor if your appointment is ​scheduled to start at 10 AM it will start on time and you'll be ready to get on with your day within 30 minutes unless we end up needing to perform special testing or provide services beyond your comprehensive exam.

We don't schedule more patients per day that we can see in
a timely manner and we're committed to staying on schedule, period.
